Tips for your yoga bolster and meditation cushions
We're so happy you have a Calm Buddhi Yoga Bolster or cushion and we hope you really do love it!
Our bolsters and cushions are dyed, printed and upholstered in India and we inspect, assemble and deliver from Calm Buddhi HQ in Australia.
We work hard to get ensure your Calm Buddhi item arrives to you in the best condition possible.
Once you have your beautiful items, here's some great tips to keep it in great condition! If you any questions please message us, we'd love to help you!

Tip #1
Store your products away from direct sunlight to help preserve their colour and keep your beautiful handcrafted piece looking its best.

Tip #2
Use your breath as your guide. If you’re unable to maintain an even inhale and exhale, it may be a sign that you need more support from your props. Your bolster is there to assist—gently supporting areas of the body to help you open, release, or rest with ease. Props bring the practice to you, with their main purpose being to provide the support you need to let go and breathe calmly throughout your yoga practice.

Tip #3
Our round and oval bolsters are filled with a natural fibre called kapok. Grown on trees, kapok requires less water to harvest, making it a more sustainable choice for the planet. It has a cotton-like appearance but is much lighter, which makes transporting your bolster to classes easier.
When you first receive your bolster, it may feel slightly firm. This is intentional—filling it firmly provides better longevity and support. Over time, the natural fibre will gently compress and soften with use.
Our buckwheat-filled round, crescent, and rondo cushions work a little differently. Over time, buckwheat will also compress, but these cushions allow you to adjust the height by removing some of the hulls. It can take a little manoeuvring to remove the cover, so we recommend watching our video on how to use and adjust your meditation cushion.

Tip #4
Kapok absorbs less moisture than cotton making a great choice for our bolsters but some really humid areas or those with a lack of circulation require some extra help to prevent the bolster absorbing humidity.
If you live in a humid area we recommend storing silica beads inside the liner of your bolster or meditation cushion.

Tip #5
All of our bolsters and cushions feature a zipped cover, making them easy to remove for cleaning. To preserve their beauty and integrity, we recommend dry cleaning. This helps maintain the quality of the natural dyes and handcrafted details, ensuring your bolster can be enjoyed for years to come.
